Located in Flower Mound, United States, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound was designed by HKS, Inc. Established as a cornerstone facility in a heavily wooded site and part of a multi-use development, this hospital was designed to celebrate the cycle of life – connecting with the environment both inside and out – to create a place where people can be inspired, heal and grow. The hospital was designed to respond to the future context of a walkable, new-urbanist, multi-use development.
Siting of the structure and parking began with designating tree preservation park areas – to craft the experience and retain the character of the existing forest. The campus layout provides patients with views of a beautiful, tree-covered environment, with healing respite gardens and walking trails for patients and families to enjoy the parks. But, the hospital is more than just a beautiful campus. It’s designed to be operationally efficient, lean, affordable and sustainably responsible.
