Nevsky Town Hall, St Petersburg that located in Russia, was designed by nps tchoban voss GmbH & Co. KG. The competition design serves as a concept for building the new town hall of St. Petersburg in connection with a new administrative and business complex in the historical centre of the city. The site mainly adjoins residential buildings dating from the late nineteenth century to the mid twentieth century. What makes the project unique is the plan to combine the institutions of the executing power as well as office blocks, business centres, hotels, commerce and services in one administrative building complex.
The administrative building of the municipal government of St. Petersburg commands a distinguished position in the eastern part of the site, with the main façade along Novgorodskaja Street. The dominating position of the administrative building is highlighted by its silhouette and height. The lens-like dome over the main part of the building dominates the area and represents a characteristic and recognisable detail. A passage with light strips embedded in the floor crosses the whole area.
