Young Architects Program in New York, United States

June 23, 2011 Category: Cultural, Public Buildings

Young Architects Program that located in New York, United States, was designed by Interboro Partners. ‘Holding Pattern’ gives new meaning to the concept of recycling. The project is the result of an ongoing dialogue between MoMA PS1 and its neighbours. Designers Tobias Armborst, Daniel D’Oca, and Georgeen Theodore asked the neighbouring community organisations if there were things they needed that could be incorporated into the courtyard’s design that they could donate at the project’s conclusion. This process resulted in an inventory of 79 eclectic objects and 84 trees including benches, mirrors, ping-pong tables, and floodlights all disposed under a very elegant and taut canopy creating an interactive environment in Momma PS1′s courtyard.
