Located in Troyes, France, Troyes Campus was designed by integral Lipsky + Rollet architectes. The ambition to develop student life the heart of Troyes, France, is coming to fruition with the completion of the four buildings of Troyes University close to the city’s cathedral and the Museum of Art Modern.
The campus sits on a 2.2 ha former dock on the fringes of a protected area, characterized by its isolation. The 16.2 million € project comprises the university, a university cafeteria, 47 student residences, a gym, a cultural center, and a landscaped square.
The project creates a contemporary feel through the combination of solid wood and composite materials (polycarbonate honeycomb with sunshading) playing on transparency and layering of textures, while respecting the structural geometry of the city.
integral Lipsky + Rollet Architects Planners paid particular attention to the student housing which manifests as a series of small vertical town houses perched on a concrete plinth.
