The Toronto Airport expansion approaches completion, phase two of the Multi-Phase Project by Moshe Safdie and Associates opens to the public. Toronto’s Lester Pearson International Airport, a multi-phased 2 billion expansion project designed by Airport Architects Canada, a joint venture of Moshe Safdie and Associates; Skidmore Owings & Merrill and Adamson Architects, is one step closer to completion with the opening last month of the 2nd phase of the project. That phase includes the completion of a third “pier” that contains boarding gates and the expansion of a parking garage.

The entire project, which is expected to be completed in 2010, includes the construction of a new Terminal to replace existing terminals 1 and 2, a new parking garage, a “people mover” to connect the new Terminal with Terminal 3, an interim passenger facility known as an Infield Holdroom, and various other facilities including new fueling stations and administrative offices.
