The Treveia Cubhouse in Nuvali, Philippines

The village clubhouse that called the Treveia Cubhouse was designed by Asuncion Berenguer Inc for the Philippines’ premiere property developer, Ayala Land is located in Nuvali, Philippines. The Treveia Cubhouse is a building that would defy the conventions of the typical village clubhouse, while keeping within the context of sustainable building, tropical and contemporary community living. The clubhouse is the main amenity for the convergence of the community, located on a 10,000 sq m property which sits in the middle of the development.

The structure is shaped like a quarter moon, rendering all areas within the crescent space of the clubhouse irregular. It is a whitewashed assembly of layered roofs that interconnect through its play of levels, all perched precariously on slender angled cylindrical posts and short spans of wall, with roofs capping the irregular spaces underneath with sloped and angled ceilings. The building enclosure is generally non-descript, as doors, door openings, walls, clerestory windows, and timber decks line both its exterior walls and its inside perimeter, which defines the main circulation walkway from which clubhouse facilities may be accessed.

From this point, the wide expanse around the property is made visible, including almost all of the clubhouse activities. Beyond this, the children’s pavilion stands alone in the landscape, its boulder-like facetted exterior designed to cast some visual intrigue and attention to its seemingly distant location. Within this project, Asuncion-Berenguer Inc hopes to have addressed the need for family living within a modern architecture and sustainable environment.
