Located in New York City, United States , The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts was designed by Diller Scofidio + Refro’s Lincoln. The redevelopment of 65th Street is the first project underway. Designed by Diller Scofidio + Refro with FX Fowle Architects, this project aims to make a more open and transparent campus. The design creates a “Street of the Arts” lined on both sides with new building facades, innovative visitor information systems, dramatic light and new indoor outdoor facilities for dining and refreshments. The project includes major facility expansion as, for example, a new Alice Tully Hall and a new Film Center, the later designed by the Rockwell Group. Also included is a new destination restaurant with a public roof lawn, a spacious retail shop and a dramatic new street level identity for six resident companies.
