Located in Bicester, United Kingdom, The Foynes Memorial Garden, was designed by Robert James Landscapes Ltd, Garden design and construction company, Robert James Landscapes, has completed their latest build – an eco-friendly memorial garden which will only allow specially-designed degradable caskets to be used for the interment of cremated remains.
The Foynes Memorial Garden, designed by John Platts Landscape Architects, is part of a three-phase community regeneration project for the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Bicester.
The plots will remain unmarked, although the parish will be in possession of a plan which will clearly locate where each set of remains is buried. This will ensure that the appearance of a garden is retained, rather that turning this area into the usual garden of remembrance to be found in cemeteries and churchyards.
