The Swedish Executive Health Center designed by Callison is located in Seattle, United States. Top executives are critical to the health of their companies, yet many delay or simply never schedule an annual physical. Recognising an unmet need in the primary care market, Swedish Medical Center partnered with Callison to design an executive health screening facility catering to the needs of busy executives.

The Executive Health Center contains all the diagnostic equipment required for a thorough physical in one location and puts patient convenience and scheduling efficiency as the top priority.

Uniquely designed, the clinic features services and amenities commonly found in five-star hotels and integrates elements of evidence-based design, including access to nature, control, positive distraction, social support and elimination of environmental stressors. There is no waiting room as guests have the use of individual guest suites for the duration of their four-to eight-hour stay.

Each guest suite is complete with a living room, a bathroom with a spa-like ambiance and an exam room. Completely wired and wireless, executives can stay connected to their work if they choose and in the manner they choose – through their own equipment or the plasma screen in the living room. Flooded with natural light, the design welcomes the patient and decreases anxiety while providing cardiovascular testing, pulmonary testing and diagnostic imaging equipment in spaces with wood flooring and warm, relaxing colors.

The diagnostic wing continues the fine ambiance of the Executive Health Center. Confidentiality and convenience are priority as guests never see each other and never wait in line through carefully coordinated scheduling. Although an out-of-pocket venture, market share has soared and the Executive Health Center is booked for months in advance.
