The Stadium Salzburg designed by Albert Wimmer Architects is located in Salzburg, Austria. Located in the immediate surroundings of the Klessheim palace, the renewed layout simultaneously reflects sensitivity and awareness. With maximal outer dimensions of ca. 185 x 160 metres, it is first experienced from the outside as a somewhat slanting structure, with a floating roof over it.

A new feature is the upper distribution area, incisive with its four-sided layout and enclosing the existing character, reflects excitement and dynamics in contrast with the wooden façade of the stadium. Another completely new feature is the roof lift: the complete existing roof with its surface of 17,000 m² and more than 1,900 tonnes in weight, was lifted for 10.50 metres within one day. The process of enlargement was done without interrupting the events at the stadium. 12 major and 56 minor lift supports were necessary for the process.
