St Vincent’s Quarter in Sheffield, United Kingdom

February 07, 2011 Category: Cultural, Public Buildings

The St Vincent’s Quarter designed by PROJECT CONTROL GROUP is located in Sheffield, United Kingdom.  Contractors have moved in to build a major new mixed use scheme including student apartments, private residential units and a retail outlet on a brownfield industrial site on Edward Street in the St Vincent’s Quarter of Sheffield. Architects Race Cottam Associates have designed the flats which will include 417 student bedrooms arranged in cluster flats of three, four and five bed units as well as several self-contained studios.

The development is next to the site of the proposed St Vincent’s Park which will be Sheffield’s first public open space to be located on top of a multi-storey car park and will be ‘green roofed’. The St Vincent’s Quarter, in the north west of Sheffield, features a series of other important listed buildings along streets which still follow historic strip field boundaries.
