The St Mary’s Church of England Primary School designed by Archial Group plc is located in Handsworth, United Kingdom. The award-winning practice, part of the AIM-listed UK-wide SMC Group, completed the design and project management of the two-storey facility as part of a five-year framework agreement with Birmingham City Council to improve the city’s schools of which the company has now completed more than twenty. The two-classroom extension is attached to the two-storey main school building and benefits from a lift. It has replaced a mobile classroom that was sited in the school playground and used throughout the year by St Mary’s Primary School’s junior-aged pupils of whom 43 have special needs including a wheelchair user.
