This stand-alone building is designed to be easily recognised as a state-of-the-art facility while blending harmoniously with the existing medical campus. The contemporary architecture responds to site opportunities and programmatic requirements with elements that have their own unique form and material.
The curved gesture not only helps to create an engaging landmark for the hospital entry but also responds to the dynamics of the adjacent three-acre lake, thus providing scenic views on all three levels of the hospital. Functionally the curved footprint creates inpatient floors that are staff-friendly and efficient, maximising visibility from nurse stations. Wayfinding is also reinforced by this distinctive shape, creating an intuitive patient-focused environment that minimises the need for signage.
