Residential Building in Lehrte, Germany

February 04, 2011 Category: House, Residential

Located in Lehrte, Germany, Residential Building was designed by Nieberg Architect. The notion of adding is strengthened by the cantilevered box on both sides. The massiveness of the dark grey concrete elements is in tension with the glass. The lamellas serve both the proportion of the façades and the reduction of undesired views. One of the existing garages was reused as the new entrance. The ascent into the living area is accented by a separate rough staircase. The new cube is separated as an additive element by glass joints from other parts of the building. The interiors are shaped by the interaction of simple materials and light effects.
