Pozuelo de Alarcón in Madrid, Spain

January 12, 2011 Category: House, Residential

Located in Madrid, Spain, Pozuelo de Alarcón was designed by A-cero. The design for the 1,000-square-metre house attempts to create a dialogue with the natural environment whilst retaining A-cero’s architectural philosophy. Large windows have been installed to facilitate the entrance of light into the structure’s interior, whilst the main entrance sports a vertical fail made of dark stone granite which contrasts from the rest of the facade.

A-cero have deliberately included an element of sculpture into this residential design – the blocks are dressed in marble travertine and are created in curved shapes and edges. These touches are designed to emphasize the project’s ‘wings’ and contribute to the weightlessness of the building.
