The new Olympic ski jump located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany Designed by German architects terrain: loenhart&mayr has been officially opened. the design was inspired by the local topography of mount Gudiberg with the connecting lines of the jump reflecting the curved lines of the foothills of the mountains. Jutting out from the base of the mountain range, the form represents that of a jutting shard of ice, already nicknamed the ‘Olympic Cantilever’ by athletes and mimicking the challenge with gravity encountered in ski jumping.
