Nanjing International Conference and Exhibition Center that located in Nanjing, China, was designed by Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates. Construction of the first phase of the Nanjing International Conference and Exhibition Center has completed and is now open to the public. Located in the vibrant commercial heart of the city’s new Hexi downtown district, the Nanjing Conference and Exhibition Center has become the centerpiece of the city and was officially opened earlier this month for the start of the Fourth United Nations Urban Forum.
The new complex, spanning more than 50 acres, is the largest conference and exhibition center in Jiangsu Province. It features eight identical halls, with more than 100,000 sq m of world-class exhibition space arranged along a gracefully curving grand concourse. A centrally located conference center includes 27 meeting rooms, an 800 seat plenary hall as well as a junior and grand ballroom. The new conference center features a unique multi-purpose hall accommodating banquet, assembly or exhibition events. Also unique to the Nanjing International Conference and Exhibition center are a series of lakes, arranged along the grand concourse, which can be rapidly drained to provide more than 30,000 square meters of outdoor exhibition space for large-scale displays.
To complement the new HEXI district, tvsdesign envisioned a masterplan of future hotels, retail, and office space, all integrated with local mass-transit. Thus far, the first phase of the new conference and exhibition center has already hosted the Fifth Jiangsu International Machine Tool and Moulds Exhibition and the Fourth China Nanjing Software Expo.
