Designed by Make Architects, Montpellier Chapter is located in Cheltenham, United Kingdom. Whilst design studio Make has amassed an impressive portfolio of international hotel projects, it has only recently completed its first hotel in the UK – the Montpellier Chapter in Cheltenham. Sensitively crafted to retain the original grandeur and stateliness of the Grade II Listed Victorian mansion that is the Montpellier Chapter, the unifying project by Make aimed to unite the building’s many architectural additions into a single seamless edifice.
Contemporary art and design have been effused into the Victorian mansion, with a thoughtfully curated art collection from Central Saint Martin’s College permanently on display, showcasing the best in student and professional artistic talents. Similarly, bespoke wooden furnishings by British designer Matthew Hilton have been installed throughout the facility, with signature Hepburn sofas in the reception area, I-beam tables in the library and desk chairs in each bedroom.
