MOB: Medical Office Building that located in Bellevue, United States, was designed by NAC Architecture. The project is the first medical complex to be developed in a recently re-zoned part of the city that will receive substantially increased density. The area is close to the downtown core which contains significant high density development. Unfortunately, such development has not generated open public spaces, to be enjoyed for the common good, whether as parks or public plazas.
The design concept proposes a public park on the roof of a two-storey base with open spaces and passages for public use at lower levels. All parking is underground. The two-storey base includes a combination of medically related retail and smaller medical tenant suites. It could also contain a mix of service businesses, cafes, or daycare for employees, patients, staff, or visitors from this complex and / or adjacent future development. The two five-storey buildings are intended for larger medical tenants, which could easily include medically and commercially focused treatment spas or other users that could benefit from the symbiotic relationship with the park.
