Medical Center, Design for new medical facility in Chuncheon, Korea

Designed by FORUM D&P Inc, Medical Center, Design for new medical facility is located in Chuncheon, Korea. The main lobby is located on the ground floor, and it leads into the upper floors with commercial facilities, cultural center, healing facilities (rehabilitation center) and treatment facilities (specialised medical facilities). The common areas between the floors are composed of public gardens and hallways that continue from outside of the building. Abundant natural light flowing into all the major spaces in various architectural applications based on functions and conditions.

The first and second floors provide open plans to ease the traffic from outside. The third and forth floors contain large balconies that overlook the courtyard. The fifth floor is comprised of a void space. There is an atrium that extends from the sixth floor to the green roof. Vertical louvers in the medical space enables control over the intensity of sunlight reaching these spaces and creates a dynamic facade. The basic colours of the spaces are white, green and orange. These colours correspond the rooms use. (White = clinics / calm, Green = rehabilitation / vivid, Orange = semi-public / communicative)
