Maison Chêne-Bougeries that located in Geneva, Switzerland, was designed by Charles Pictet architecte FAS SIA. This house is located in the outskirts of Geneva, taking the scale of the neighbouring houses as it’s expression is established by engaging a play of volumes, appearing as if two narrow houses were linked together by the ground floor.
A link is emphasised by a long curved glass window, gathering all the spaces of the ground floor and providing a panoramic view of the garden. The spaces located on each end of the large glass window can either be used as private bedrooms or extensions of the living room.
This flexibility allows the house to adapt itself to the needs of its inhabitants. In contrast, the two separate bedrooms on the first floor experiment with the idea of benefitting specific views stretching beyond the site limits.
