Lough Residence in Storm Bay, Ontario, Canada

July 24, 2010 Category: House, Residential

Designed by Andrew Wach Architect, located in Storm Bay, Ontario, Canada, Lough Residence is located on a remote, lake property in Storm Bay, Ontario, Canada. The project consists of three buildings, the principal residence and two pavilions. The development of three buildings allowed for a reasoned siting and operation of the overall project to minimize environmental impact.

The principal residence is positioned along the rock ridge, it is lifted above the natural landscape, minimizing impact to the natural environment and expanding the access to natural light and the views to the lake. The residence creates an openness of internal space and expands the internal volumes to the continuous exterior living deck through the expansive perimeter glazing. The result is a house with minimum environmental impact, that is open to and encompassed by the natural environment creating a family place of reserved quality and a sense of calm.
