The Lighthouse was designed by Sheppard Robson is located in Watford, United Kingdom. The lighthouse is the United Kingdom the first home net zero carbon, which corresponds to level 6 (highest level) of the Code for Sustainable Homes, the standard that all  homes in the United Kingdom must be constructed of 2016.

It is designed to provide a lifestyle that encourages lifestyles which are inherently ‘light’ on the planet’s resources to balance the practical requirements of owners with a response to climate change expected in the United Kingdom.

The design and construction of the house shows a house of free carbon is feasible, but it assigns responsibility to both the technology and its user. It is an experience of life based on the occupant by adjusting their lifestyle, an action that we should all adopt if we want to have a real impact on the future of the environment of the United Kingdom.
