The Kings Dock Mill designed by LAG Prichard Architects is located in Liverpool, United Kingdom. The underlying design principles have been to reflect the existing character and urban grain of the area by using the traditional materials of brick and slate, together with glazing, in a contemporary context. The limited palette of materials has resulted in a simple, refined series of buildings carefully sculpted from the brickwork and broken by the glazing. The Hotel building is set back from the road, standing on a newly created public realm, increasing its presence within the area.

The main body of the Hotel, constructed in brickwork, floats above and overhangs the 1½ storey glazed ground floor. This is a contemporary take on the traditional colonnades of the monolithic warehouse buildings constructed during the 1800s.
