Hypar Pavilion in New York, United States

December 06, 2010 Category: Commercial Building, Restaurant

The Hypar Pavilion is a green public plaza designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro in New York’s Lincoln Center, United States. Spread across the institute’s North Plaza, the twisted grass plane lays atop a glass pavilion restaurant, acting as ‘an occupiable green roof’.

Beneath this expanse of greenery lies a 11,000 sq ft restaurant with a contoured wood ceiling, capable of serving 160 diners and 40 individuals at the bar in a split facility where diners can watch their meals being prepared as the 1,000 sq ft kitchen opens out onto the dining area.
