The Homeless World Cup Legacy Center designed by Lompreta Nolte Arquitetos, Nanda Eskes Arquitetura & Architecture for Humanity is located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The commission consisted of a two-phase project: first, a community centre; second, a pedagogical centre to serve the activities of the NGO Bola Pra Frente. The first phase was conceived as a building shaped as a ramp, which serves as a stand for cultural activities. It is also the access for the second part of the project.
For the conclusion of the plaza, the architects intend to collaborate with the local community. Recyclable materials will be used, including residue from local industries. The second phase of the project is still in conception, and will be concluded through fundraising.
