Glamis Apartments in Santiago, Chile

August 18, 2010 Category: Apartment, Residential

Located in Santiago, Chile, Glamis Apartments was designed by  Gonzalo Mardones Arquitecto, Glamis Apartment’s main facade consists of two large walls which contain a series of openings and windows of different sizes that reflect the project’s internal program.

From a constructive point of view the building is resolved with concrete incorporating titanium dioxide and a system of phenolic molds with 5 inch wide planks, which have been designed and modulated on the basis of the geometry of the windows, sills, beams and walls. The exterior is completely white and all the doors, windows and joinery items are in cedar wood.

All the elements of the façade correspond to a coherent rectangular theme of squares and rectangles to ensure that the voids, light, transparency and framing of each view gives each space its own identity.
