Cooper Hewitt Museum 2010 National Design Awards is located in New York, NY, United States. Rodarte took the top award in the category of fashion design. Founded in 2005 by Kate and Laura Mulleavy, Rodarte is an up and coming American fashion house which has received the 2009 Womenswear Designer of the Year Award by the Council of Fashion Designers of America and the prestigious Swiss Textiles Award in 2008. Smart Design took the award for product design. It has designed products for Oxo Good Grips kitchen tools as well as the New York City taxi graphics. Lisa Strausfeld of Pentagram took top honors in the category of Interactive Design and James Corner Field Operations, which designed New York’s High Line, scooped the award for landscape design. Also honored were Ralph Caplan in the category of Design Mind and Jane Thompson in the category of Lifetime Achievement. The US Green Building Council received the Corporate Achievement award.
