Designed by Tony Owen NDM Architects , Contemporary pod-apartments is located in Sydney, Australia, have completed designs for the Pod apartment building in the Sydney Central Business District. The project contains inner city apartments, retail and streetside cafes. The project occupies an important site in the Sydney CBD near Central Railway Station. The site is located in Regent Street which contains a number of Sydney’s more exuberant historical buildings.

The design is intended to make a strong contemporary statement that, like its neighbours, is a bold statement of its time. The building uses pre-cast pods to articulate the balcony areas and moderate the penetration of sunlight into the living spaces. The intricate design makes it possible to maintain a series of complex set backs without losing the integrity of the overall concept.
