City Business Centre in Timisoara, Romania

Located in Timisoara, Romania, City Business Centre was designed by Andreescu & Gaivoronschi. The first building is characterised by an overlapping of functional layers, namely a basement with parking and technical spaces, the ground floor and the mezzanine dedicated to retail and services, the five floors and the penthouse for A-class offices.

The ample structure of concrete pillars with rigid steel armour and steel beams with openings up to 11 meters allow flexibility for the office spaces around the central nucleus. The indirect artificial illumination of the glass lamellas according to different scenarios coordinated by the BMS system generates t’e orchestra of a dynamic pulsating skin. There are some striking ‘spots” inside characterised by special atmospheres, such as the lobby with its ‘glass pipe organ’.
