Casa Paracaima in Mexico City, Mexico

July 13, 2010 Category: House, Residential

Casa Paracaima designed by DCPP Arquitectos located in Mexico City, Mexico, is a private residence located in Mexico City. Completed in 2008, the 360 sq m house consists of two concrete volumes on a 400 sq m site with many restrictions to the sides and the front.

The architects used these restrictions to give shape to the house, searching for the maximum volume of open areas and pleasing spatial orientation.

With this design, the project consists of two main volumes that intersect. The first volume consists of a structural concrete wall, 25 centimeters wide and 7.5 m high, and bears the weight of the second volume. The first volume contains the main open living area with an open terrace, the roof passing at 7.5 m on one side and with the library on the other.

The second volume, in contrast, is much more closed, containing all the private areas of the house.
