Brassey Square in London, United Kingdom

April 07, 2010 Category: House, Residential

Located in Battersea, London, United Kingdom, this home design is a 1950s terraced house that converted by Granit Chartered Architects. The homeowner aimed to update the house and transform the living areas – “I think it is a great transformation and shows what can be done in a really innovative way.” The building was extended to the rear at ground and first floor levels. An unused garage was removed and the garden linked to the internal living space through sliding folding glass doors. Space was created in the loft to include an office and hidden storage. The kitchen and living area have been opened up with modern materials, hidden appliances and innovative storage. Innovative glass strips present the bathroom as floating and provide high volumes of light. Copper cladding adds texture and modernity to the building.
