Designed by FXFOWLE ARCHITECTS and Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects, New Jersey Transit called Bergenline Avenue Tunnel Station is a key intermodal light rail station links urban towns in Union City, New Jersey, United States. New Jersey Transit’s Bergenline Avenue Tunnel Station is a key intermodal node in the new Hudson Bergen Light Rail System, and the system’s only tunnel station with the platform located 160 feet below grade. At the plaza level, access to the platform below is provided by elevators within a brick and glass head house structure, flanked by vent stacks and a sleek glass canopy. Site specific art installations were integrated into the architectural design.
