The Andel’s Hotel was designed by OP ARCHITEKTEN is conversion of the historic cotton mill Polish. Lodz is centrally located, placed second largest city of Poland, whose rapid growth began with the industrial development in the late 19th century. Created in the golden years of the industrial era of Lodz, the building owned by the textile magnate Izrael Poznanski was originally built in 1878 as a spinning workshop, part of a complex of cotton mill . Now, empty for decades, the cotton plant has been transformed into an extraordinary hotel with 278 designer rooms and suites, 3100 square meters of conference space, a ballroom for 800 persons and restaurants and bar with seating for more than 450 people.

Based in Vienna, OP ARCHITEKTEN studio convert one of the icons of the architecture of the city of Lodz, referring to this new project the spirit of the industrial revolution era of the town, known locally as the “Polish Manchester. A clear architectural design incorporates sophisticated features 4-star hotel and organizes the industrial building of 200 m long in an attractive and remarkable. The unique atmosphere is created by a harmonious dialogue between the historical aura and contemporary architecture. Much attention has been paid to preserving as many original elements as possible, the internal structure of bearings, cast iron beams and pillars of steel-brick ceilings, walls, structural and external walls.

The remarkable element in the shape of the building is a glass box overlooking the pool, located in a former fire storage tank water. The tank, made 130 years ago in Manchester, was placed in the Polish plant as part of sophisticated fire suppression system. Walking in the pool becomes an experience to feel the spaces flow into one another, the roofs of the city, the scenery impressive red brick facades and light, stylish new landscape of the roof. Located below this element are a fitness center and wellness center, event space and sun terraces on all sides of the building. Located on the 4th floor has a ballroom, 1,300 square meters, double high floor, fully customizable and acoustically separated from the rest of the building. Andel’s Hotel is the largest building of its kind in Poland.
