240 Regent Street London in United Kingdom

March 21, 2011 Category: Cultural, Public Buildings

The 240 Regent Street London designed by Rolfe Judd Ltd is located in United Kingdom.  Rolfe Judd negotiated a particularly sensitive planning application to refurbish and extend the Grade II listed former Dickins and Jones department store on Regent Street. Unlocking this great building’s value had to be balanced with careful negotiations for change of use, conservation area consent and listed buildings consent.

The project transformed the existing single-use building into a vibrant new mixed-use development. As a shopping experience, the building features a number of major flagship stores over the lower four floors, whilst a panoramic roof-top ‘destination restaurant’, contemporary office accommodation and an atrium space designed to open up and revitalise Argyll Street at the building’s rear complete the overall solution.
